This color palette looks straight out of Wes Anderson's "Asteroid City" - the palette, or "color science" as it's called in photography, harkens back to the early days of color film - some palettes used in Wes movies:

PS not thrilled with the images, just the colors, The image has a Jack Vettriano (Singing Butler) kind of idealised plastic fantasy about it -- to me, millions of people love that, however.

Love that top painting Enyaw!
Well, I have a bunch that I came across. Some I personally liked for my taste. Others I thought were interesting, and I immediately thought of members on this forum who might enjoy some of these artists. Their work reminded me of artists here. So here goes.
Jef Bourgeau on Instagram:
He has several different styles. I could’ve kept posting how many wonderful paintings he has. The colour and glow he achieve in some of his paintings really reminds me of Maxfield Parish.

I have obviously been saving up pictures meaning to get on here and post. I was thinking of different members on this site when I saved these.

Christine, your taste is quite wide-ranging — thanks for the examples. I must say that I am also able to appreciate diverse styles, to the point that it would be accurate to call me an omniphile in art, since I like a large percentage of the works I see. Does that perhaps mean that I actually don't have any taste at all?

Being an omniphile is all very well if you're not an artist yourself. My problem is that I like so many different things at different times, that I have found it pretty much impossible to settle on any clearly recognizable thing for myself. Perhaps it is better for an artist not to like too many different things. I wonder if you have run into this same problem? Any other omniphiles here who struggle with this?

Yes, I have the same problem. I must say, though, that for me there is a difference between simply appreciating a work of art and being inspired to do something similar. For example, I adore Sargent, but never feel compelled to paint like him, whereas I would dearly love to be able to paint like Keith Vaughan.

I do have a wide ranging taste or at least appreciation for different styles of art. I may not put it all up in my house, however! Lol
I really wanted to add art here that wasn’t just the more traditional work that people tend to like. Especially for the members here who produce and enjoy completely different styles of art/ subject matter to the traditional!
As an artist, I definitely want to try different subjects and styles. Which they say is not great if you really want to be serious about showing your work. They like themes, they like a recognizable style. They want 15 pieces of one subject. I think many artists find that frustrating. But as an artist wanting to develop, I think it’s wonderful to try different things. it really helps skill level and you find out that maybe you’re rather good at some styles that you never thought you would be. Some subject matter too.
Also, sorry for the repeating photos. When I posted these I had to go back and make sure that I didn’t have duplicates. For some reason, it was showing a few extra in each post. I went through all my posts and removed them, and they looked good. This morning I get up and open this thread, and it’s all duplicated again! Far more than last night. I don’t know why that happened. I worked on that for about 20 minutes last night when I posted it to be sure that it was correct.
