Intriguing piece... and coincidentally my current work in progress may be on the same theme: Psyche. I say may because my paintings tend to evolve during the painting progress. Well into a painting I often find I don't really know what it's about or what the theme will eventually become. But I'm not alone in this. Dekooning famously wrote: I think I'm painting a picture of two women, but it may turn out to be a landscape.
