From the same spot I did the 'Backdoor Daylily', long time ago.

The way you are applying the colors in layers in the trees and bushes reminds me a good deal of Bonnard:

I was lucky enough to see the Exhibition of Garden Paintings about five years ago at the Cleveland Museum of Art that had three, I think, of Bonnard's works, one of which I really liked.
I will look him up again to study his pastel layering.

FWIW, be advised that there is nowhere near the concentration and quality of Art Museums down here as compared to my real home back there where you are. Enjoy while you can.
 
Bonnard rarely used pastel... and the example I posted was oil... but I'm thinking of the manner in which he applied layers of colors allowing various layers to show through. This approach certainly has links to the application of pastel.
