I have one Grandchild, my Granddaughter Hannah Elizabeth. Since day one she has been my favorite subject for photos, drawings and artwork. This was done when she was around 3-4 years old. It's done on black Stonehenge with Primacolor pencils. The size is 12 x 14 inches. This was one of my first serious attempts at using black paper. I had made a few quick drawings to see how the pencils worked with a dark paper.

Excellent. THe hair is fantastic - the way you painted it, and in person no doubt.

Oh my! How adorable the child and how great the portrait. Smashing! ❤️ ❤️

Success! Wonderful work.👏🏻👏🏻🙂
How did you like working on a black background? I have enjoyed it in the past.

It was OK but takes a different procedure for applying color. To transfer my original image I use a white transfer paper. On white I just sketch lightly with a neutral colored pencil

Wow, beautiful portait. It looks great on the black paper. Her hair is amazing.

Beautiful portrait! Very expressive eyes. I really like your choice of the black paper, too. Great job!
