This week the Chennai Urban Sketchers (we are on Facebook) met at the Marundeeswarar Koil in South Chennai. CUSk is a relatively new group and today's attendance was very encouraging.. around 15 members turned up.
Marundeeswarar means the god of medicines and koil means temple. I liked the view from the carpark and decided to sketch from there itself. This is in pen and ink, sketched with a Sakura 2 mm calligraphy sketch pen. The sketch is approximately 7" x 9".
There were two or three other members sketching the view from outside the temple precincts. After a couple of hours or so all members of the group met again in the carpark to view one another's work and to exchange notes. The men in charge of the carpark were so appreciative of our group's sketching activities that they refused to accept any parking fee.
