I painted this on paper.. I think it’ll help me when I switch to canvas rolls I bought a few months back.. but who knows.. I painted my previous 10 48x36 paintings on mounted canvases.. I’m doing different sizes I have to cut myself now.. this is probably 10”x8” sorry I’m not sure - it was made in a sketch book! Wanted to add excitement in this.. used darker colors I might not use on a large canvas.

Jackson Volcano is an extinct volcano under Jackson, MS.

I might find a way to use the canvas roll on easel.. I’ve been painting on easels so long, this was my first away from it..

This reminds me of a steel factory. You might want to check out Franz Klein. His black abstracts are influenced by where he grew up, in Bethlem, PA, near the steel factories.

I looked up the Franz Klein paintings and I see a similarity, in the colors. His are very dramatic, bleak.
