It just occurred to me today that Inktober is starting in a few hours! My ambitions always exceed my output, but I thought I would post the prompts here for any that want to participate.

Thanks for sharing the prompts, Joy! I totally forgot about it this year. Thought-provoking list, as always.

Jade, that is so good and regal! I am still working on mine.

Kay, I also was so busy preparing for my holiday I forgot about World Watercolor Month in July. How did I ever find the time to work?

Jade Forget to mention how beautifully you captured the essence and highlights in just a minimum of line. It is such an art (with which I struggle) knowing what to omit. Well done, you!

Boy, inking is time consuming and laborious! Like most things in life, it is harder than it appears to be. Here is Day 3, Crown. (And I tried to pick a "simple" one. Apparently there is no such thing!) Likely I am will only get a few done for the month, as I want to do other challenges. But I sure need the practice! I was going to ad some color with Graphitint, but was weary of looking at it.

This is A6 size on Canson XL "watercolor" sketchbook (awful paper) in Sigma Micron pens.

I know what you mean Joy. It does make you appreciate other art formats, doesn't it?! I love your crown though 👑 so intricate and well done. 👏 I think I'll only be doing a few too. I prefer pencils. 😅

I am waaaay behind, and may not do any others, as this is such a slow medium. Props to those who can do this well! This is Day 5 - the deer, which I did for both Inktober and Animal Challenges. It is A5 on 95 lb Hahnemühle toned paper , various sized Sigma Micron pens and Derwent Inktense for color. It started off as just ink (boy, is that laborious!) and I decided to experiment with the Inktense, since it was either that or bin the effort.

What gorgeous work!

I realize this is a time consuming process, but you can't argue with these results. ;) Beautiful sketch and palette.

Jade, Terri - thank you! Just the black ink did not look very finished to me, likely because I did not do enough for the values. Using the Inktense is a learning curve, and I feel that watercolor involves a lot less for a small piece.
