Early attempt at abstract, based on another realistic painting that I can't find at the moment.

Thanks sno, that is sort of the approach I use, freely veering from one to the other as I go along without caring which way it ends up.

Heady stuff Susan ! Undeserved, but treasured.
I think I remember one little study he had of trying out a purple/yellow combo of a violet bouquet.
There also might have been some purple in his painting of a grape harvest.

Yep. I love telephone poles, and I have a couple more of this motif with the telephone poles that I will be posting; be warned !
