I'm going to guess this one dates form the late 1970s or early 1980s, when the first Star Wars series hit the theaters. Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

Blasters are fine, I guess, if you can hit what you're shooting at!
Thought I'd find this immediately, but instead took me about 15 min to track this down. I thought it would be late sixties or early seventies, but nope, 1959! and available on reel to reel tape the year after. The jokes they tried to make about the covers were more cringeworthy than the covers. I noticed the girl singer felt uncomfortable not so much with the covers but the not-so-clever yucks. She knows as an artist what it takes to put yourself out there. She was the wrong guest to have for that segment. They put her up as "see you're better than these idiots", and I think she felt more of a kinship with them.
