That's very interesting. I've also heard/saw/known that his last completed painting was supposed to be the Crows. Not sure if that's the actual title, but it was also what you were left with in the last room at the end of his big exhibition when it was here at LACMA many years ago. I think that was before the newer hypothesis was considered about how the end of his life was starting to come into focus--about the kids in the street that attacked him earlier in the day before he was found with the gunshot wound.
