Animal And Wildlife Challenge Oct/Nov 2025

Patricia, Jade, Anne - thank you!

Just the black ink did not look very finished to me, likely because I did not do enough for the values. Using the Inktense is a learning curve, and I feel that watercolor involves a lot less for a small piece.

Anne - your bird is fabulous! I was thinking of attempting it, but you captured it so perfectly with your mastery of the Inktense I don't think I could do it justice.

Joy, if you like the reference give it a try. The idea is to have fun drawing or painting a reference that inspires you. It doesn't matter how many people did it before. There is no contest here. One version is not better than another, just different. Each artist brings their own personal touch to a painting which makes it fun to look at multiple paintings of the same subject.

Exceptionally well phrased, Anne. I also enjoy seeing so many varied interpretations of the same subject. My tendency to be too "outcome dependent" does interfere with enjoyment of many things. Although I certainly view art (and life) as a learning experience.

Patricia, thank you for your comment on the goat drawing!

Anne, l like a lot your red chest bird!
Thanks for your comment on the goat.
