Firstly an apology ... I won't be able to post the photos until Monday: they're ready to post but they're all on my laptop. I got back late to the office late on Friday, and left my laptop at work and I am too busy now this weekend ☹️. I promise to post them first thing on Monday with the challange rules etc.

If you like to work from a monthly prompt, it will be:

Your Favourite Animal

Sorry again, hope you don't mind.

Kay, you do so much for the forum that is hardly a problem. Thanks for letting us know! Being quite the over achiever myself, I can relate to being very busy. How did I ever find the time to work?

That's alright Kay- no worries .
Thanks for hosting - I really appreciate it.
Nice monthly prompt !
Cheers,
Patricia

Thank you for your understanding and patience :)

Part 2 coming up ...

Here is mine, overworked as usual. It is on Hahnemühle toned paper 200 gsm (95 lb), size A5. It is watercolor with a wee bit of ink. The paper is a bit wrinkled at the top, as I use way too much water.

Thanks for hosting, Kay. The references were all amazing.
Joy, this doesn’t look overworked. Really well done with this different perspective.
Christel, your lovely little bird looks like it’s ready to take flight.
I chose the ostrich as well. It’s done in ink, gouache, white and black charcoal on grey tinted card, 6x8”.

Joy, good job on this. I especially like how you did the eye.

Christel, well done with the bird.

Sanlynn, I like how you did the ostrich. You have a good combination of media here, each doing its part.

EP, nice ones this month.

Here's my version of the Welsh Corgi. I'm not sure I got the shape of the face on our left but it's not correctable at this stage. I wish I would see these things at the pencil stage!

This is about 8" square, ink and inktense in XL Mixed Media sketchbook.

EP-nice combination of critters.
Anne, your corgi is very sweet. I’ve done the same as you and sometimes it’s only after taking the photo that I see what’s wrong.

Anne, adorable and lovely colors. Nose is really well rendered.
EP, I especially enjoy the crop you made of each reference that fir is so well with your overall design.
Sandra, Absolutely spectacular! 👏 This is what I was attempting to do. One should not make comparisons, but it is nearly impossible not to do so. My paper had a much lighter tint. I am a great admirer of your work.

Sanlynn - lovely ostrich!
EP - great sketches!
Anne - lovely shade of ink. Well rendered!
Thanks for the comments on my little bird.
