Jade, the fish turned out really nice. Love the colors. I thought this one is so difficult to draw and paint that I might not dare to try it but you are brave and did wonderful job with it.

The unusual format appealed to me, so I cut my precious Arches 140CP sheet to size. I want to finally use my "good" supplies. This is 5 x 15 inches, in watercolor.

Nice job, Joy! Good idea re cutting to size.. I'll try that, I had a look at this little fella the other day and his tail is soooo looooong!

Love it, Joy! He has interesting, alert and sharp look in his eyes. Spectacular tail has nice movement going on. I like the textures in this painting. Also, background color is perfect as it often tends to be difficult decision in animal portrait, I've noticed (read: fighting with one bg atm).

Lovely lemur Joy. His expression is really well done . In fact, his fur, the tree, background , everything
is really well done .
The unusual format appealed to me too. It's one of the reasons why I chose to include it in the photos.

Jade, I like your Mr Squirrel. Rich darks contrasting nice from lights. Beautiful browns.
I like your Mr more than mine. Let's see if I have time to make an oil sketch of this ref, too. I have so many selected and wish to paint. I went today to the main art museum in the city center, there was Gustav Klimt and one locally famous artists' (a painter that I'm really fond of) show going on. So, these are the reasons I'm postponing my own work.

Thank you Grapes for your kind words. I looked back at yours and think it's much better and excellent shading too lol ..maybe that's human nature! And they can be friends! I find black and brown tricky with the colour pencils. Practice as Mr M @Enyaw rightly says...
