Solarized Roundism - 02-03-23

Graphite pencil (Faber Castell Pitt Graphite Matt pencil 14B) drawing Talens Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm)
Artist: Corné Akkers

Me regular model reclining on a satin sheet in my bedroom. All these flickering tonal values made me think of Man Ray's solarized photos of Lee Miller. Hence, this little homage to him.

It's a beautiful work. The flash and dash is effective but I am drawn to the halo effect of the back lighting. I have seen it in nature. Your drawing skills are extremely high end.

The backlighting on the model is very well done but that satin is exquisite. You can just feel the smoothness of it. ❤️

Wonderful! As a photographer I am familiar with solarization, and it's amazing how well you have reproduced it in graphite. Love the posture, too.

Superb!
