This is a quick, gestural, ink and watercolour wash sketch, in an 130 gsm, A6 size (approximately 14 cms x 10 cms) sketchbook.

So much "detail" with a minimum of strokes/lines. Very impressive and natural looking. Did you paint around the white stripes in the shirt? They really add to the feeling of the material. Thank you for being patient with my constant questions.

This is a style of sketching (in pen & ink, and in watercolour) that I have been working towards for the last few months. I can see that I am making progress, but I have a long way to go yet before it becomes instinctive.

I used white ink, after the watercolour washes had dried fully, to do the white stripes in the shirt.

Whatever it is you are seeking, you appear to me to have already found it. Fabulous work, Balaji.
