Pen and Ink and Intense, about 5" x 6" in XL Mixed Media Sketchbook.

I wanted to experiment with spacing and size as a subject recedes away from us. The boards on the pier were a perfect place to use the technique.

Another thing I wanted to experiment with was getting the sky a smooth color that fades to no color at all. I used wet in wet here and was pleased with how it worked.

This is lovely and your technique(s) have worked well for both the sky as well as the water. I like the variations in colour in the water.

Beautiful handling of the water, Anne. I love the tones and simplicity of this!

This is great Anne! Really like the range of blues and I love the sky. Good work on those boards too.

Wonderful success with a paper that I cannot get smooth washes to look good. Lovely complementary colors.

It can be a challenge. The only way I have been successful is to dampen the paper first and then work top to bottom quickly catching the bead with each stroke. The paper buckles a little but flattens out pretty well once it's dry.
