Michael, This is a great piece. I love hearing more about your background. I have an odd form of Lupus--originally diagnosed as MS. It affects the nervous system and acts/looks like MS. I feel for you. Because it's a pain in the butt to explain all that to people (and because I was diagnosed with MS for so many years), I often just tell people I have MS when I don't want to explain the whole thing. Lupus usually affects the renal system or involves arthritis. It's doesn't usually destroy myelin in a relapsing/remitting way. I hope yours is at least somewhat controlled and managed.i tried to paint realistically originally, and realized that was not what i wanted to do and that i like line in my paintings. so i worked on that for a while, trying to find a style that i liked. my disability (i have MS) grounded me from that as i could no longer access my basement studio where i could get 'messy'. this was one of my faves in that style. think that's why i have a preference for fountain pen now. still playing with line.

thanks Arty. my mom has to deal with lupus as well. my MS is at an inactive secondary progressive stage, which is about as stable as you can get with MS. the bad news is it put me in a wheelchair. the good news is i am retired on disability, so i have lots of time to make art now (and should make more if i wasn't so lazy! )Michael, This is a great piece. Perry, I love your tones. Although we are looking at sharp tools, it also has a very zen and calming effect to look at your art.
Can’t wait to see it finished. Love the colours.
