The Big Tree

If trees are measured only by size this one, at Kalakshetra, Chennai is not particularly big. But if you look at what happens beneath it, this tree is a giant among trees. Classes, performances, meetings, prayers are all regular events under the green cover of this banyan tree.

This is a watercolour painting on A3 size 300 gsm Chitrapat watercolour paper done during the first of our covid lockdowns in 2020.
