Yes, it is me again with another of the refs that I have been saving for literally a few years. Since I do not paint landscapes or seascapes, I thought I would give this wee painting a go. It is a watercolor, 7 x 7 on Arches 140 CP. I changed the landscape format to square because I want to try working in different sizes. I have a lot of old stock Arches in sheets that can easily be cut to any size. Limited palette of Naples Yellow, Alizarin Crimson, Cobalt Blue and Indigo.

Thank you all! Your encouragement is greatly appreciated. One generally looks at their own work with a more critical eye. It seems (to me) that landscapes require more advance planning, compositional choices and more decision making than an animal or object.

I hope you're happy with this one, Joy - it's gorgeous! A limited palette, yes, but each color carefully placed and beautifully blended.

I agree with your assessment about landscapes requiring more decision-making than perhaps a single subject painting, but clearly you're up for the challenge. ;)
