Sunset Forest in Watercolor

This was done for a challenge in another forum. It is a watercolor on a sample of Arches 300 HP, 10 x 8. It is overworked, as I do not do many landscapes, and found this very difficult.

I don’t see any evidence of this being overworked and I think it’s beautiful! The mountains look very natural and the sun peeking through is gorgeous. I hope you’ll do more landscapes, Joy.

I saw this on my phone yesterday and loved it. I couldn't wait to come back in the morning to see it on my big screen. This is fantastic! As far as you having struggled with it, it doesn't show. It looks like you knew exactly what you were doing. Such is the life of artists. ;)

Wow! So very kind of all of you! I felt like some of the trees on the left center looked unnatural, but I am glad I tried something different. Your encouragement keeps me going!

Wow! This is terrific.
If I were to nit pick, I think the sun could have been seen filtering through the leaves. Currently the edge is circular and therefore looks unnatural to me.
But I love the painting as a whole.

Thanks for your kind words!

Balaji, thank you for your candid observations. The helpful critique and suggestions from others is very helpful to me. It is also why I post on forums, to learn more. I wasn't really happy with the shape about the sun, either.
