Well, that’s more like it. Could never get behind the NFT trend.
As for Justin, just wish him well. He’s not doing well as we can all see. When he was at his height, I lived about half an hour away from where he grew up. So my friend’s daughter was his friend and had been for several years. At one point he got home quietly and they were talking on the phone and they wanted to go out and see a movie together. But he said, unless he hired the theatre for the middle of the night, it would just be a big problem. She said he was a really good person and always had been. And she did not have googly eyes over him. She’s slightly older than him. We all could see some of the pressures and problems and bad influences he was around at a young age. His wife and him bought a big house out in the country in the general region years ago. I think the more he stays away from the entertainment business and the people there, the better he is. Something has obviously happened to him. I hope he can find peace.

And you've given me an excuse to tell my movie theater story. The "Blues Brothers" movie had been out for a while, and crowds had died down. Living in North Hollywood at the time, so went to the Midnight showing at the Egyptian. At most two dozen people were in the theater. After about ten minutes into the movie, Stevie Wonder and his assistant slinked in and sat about 5 rows ahead of me. He was definitely having a good time. When I left Stevie's white limo was parked (in the red zone) directly in front of the theater.... So I saw a movie with Stevie Wonder. In Hollywood at that time was not particularly unusual to occasionally see name actors at the movies --- but Stevie Wonder??

That’s very cool. I can see where that would be exciting. He is an enduring legend! I think when Hollywood was much smaller years ago, people were stumbling across stars all the time. Especially before they did a lot of commuting by air from New York City to California. Their vacation homes were in Palm Springs. That is a place I would like to go see for all the mid-century homes.
When I was 17 years old in Nassau Bahamas in the late 80s, I went paragliding with my older brother and my mom. They put us on a raft out past the beach into more open water.I was sitting 3 feet from Courtney Cox and her boyfriend at the time. It was just us five. Canadians sort of take pride in the fact that we try not to infringe on celebrities’ privacy. We might smile, but we don’t, or we didn’t at the time, make a fuss. We figure that’s their private time. The only thing that was confusing me was that she had curly hair. I had never seen Courtney Cox with a perm. But she was identical otherwise. I know faces. I don’t know if it’s because that’s what I’ve always drawn and studied, and been interested in, but I thought if that’s not her, it must be her doppelgänger. They say we all have one. She kind of kept to herself but if we said something in passing regarding the activity she would nod. They were both rather quiet, not giving off fun in the sun vibes. I kind of thought that maybe they just really hoped they would not be recognized. Again we treated her like anyone else and went about our business. My brother agreed she sure looked like Courtney Cox. So we get back to the hotel room and there’s a fashion magazine on the table from the current month. I’m flipping through it and I stopped dead because there was a photo of Courtney Cox mentioning her fashion style. And there was the curly hair. I held the magazine up to my mother, and I said, “Who’s that?”. She looked up and without missing a beat, she said, “oh that’s the girl on the raft”. Yep. This was in the few years between the end of Family Ties and when she got the part in Ace Ventura Pet Detective that showcased Jim Carrey for his first movie lead.

Guess the trend market got bored with his bored ape. Would be a welcome reckoning if that happened to all NFTs. It's a ridiculous trend that IMHO devalues serious art.
I don't meant to imply that memes are useless. They do entertain and sometimes they even make us think, same as cartoons, comic strips, and satire.
But as "valuable" art.... nah.
What it does "illustrate" is that old saw, "more money than brains."
