Singing Under the Sizzling Rockets

So much emotion and passion has polluted my brain to the point of bursting into song. As the holiday fireworks flew overhead, I sang to myself, and for once I didn't feel embarrassed or the need to mask it with silly tones. I just felt like singing. I wrote my first poem in a while today too. In all my previous poems I would write a set number of syllables but this time I decided not to, and instead focused on alliteration and careful wording. From now on I'd like to do that more because constraining the syllable count, while sometimes helpful, often mangled many ideas. I haven't written any poems recently because I've been writing this fairy tale to myself, I have no idea if it will ever meet a public eye. Part of me wants to convert it into a large drawing, similar in essence to what I'm currently working on.
