Scavenger Hunt from Life #181: Jan 21 - Feb 2

Joan, such a fun boat and scene to fill Hunt items. Love it!

JennieJo, such a beautiful flower, I like the technique on the leaves . Great structure, graceful.

Fletch, Happy Birthday!! Hope it is good through the month and year!!
Thanks Jo. I couldn't see anything good. I'll go look with my other eye.

Hi, all! So far we have about 4 inches of snow. I think it has mixed with a little rain so it is packing it down a bit. Warm and comfortable inside today...did some cooking, some exercising, took all the ornaments off the tree (which will come down and be packed up tomorrow), made a few calls, did less computer time than usual, but so far no artwork. Hope we don't get too much ice from this storm. How is everyone else in the storm's path doing today?

Joan — So good to hear from you and know that you’re okay and warm and comfortable 😅😂 And it sounds like you got a lot done 😄 Will continue to keep you and JoC and Robin, and everyone in the path, in my thoughts and prayers 🙏❤️🙏

Edit to mention how wonderful your second sketch from the mall is. The people, the ambiance, the 3D signage - wow!!!

Pine Cone, thanks so much!

I had saved my egg shell from this morning's breakfast to use for a sketch. I put it in what I thought was a really safe place. I went looking for it a little while ago and it was gone. Jerry cleaned up and threw it away. Luckily it was at the top of the trash can so I grabbed it back.

Beautiful words all.

Beautiful sketches Joan, love the broken!

We had cold today. Ice, but mostly on the ground as sleet so not so much tree damage around here. North and east of us was probably worse. No power outages here or near us so all is good. We did exercise and other chores. Our rain gauge broke so I put out a can. We had an inch yesterday and the night before. It looks like about 1/2 inch last night but was frozen in the can and the can was frozen to the deck, will check it tomorrow as we are supposed to thaw out more after lunch time.

Everyone stay warm and safe from the storm. Those down under and Ai, hope all is well.

Back in the a.m.

4 inches not as much as it could have been. My daughter flew to NY city last night and is staying at a hotel in the city for a couple days until the storm is over... I was a bit worried but she got to the hotel this morning without trouble. The picture she sent looks COLD though! Stay warm all of you!

Hard to tell how much snow we had since it changed to freezing rain for a little while. Certain areas nearby got a lot more snow than we did right here. Hopefully they will get all the roads clear today. Our maintenance crew is usually very good at clearing our parking lot so I'm hoping they get it done today since Jerry has an appointment tomorrow afternoon.

Jo, thanks. Hope you thaw out soon.

Ned, I'm surprised that your daughter was able to fly into NYC last night. So many of the flights were cancelled. The city cleans up quickly, but the temperatures are still below freezing and will stay that way most of the week.

Robin, I've been looking at the first sketch pondering it. Is it a garlic press? What a fun perspective of it. That would have fit for opens and closes too. How did you area do with the storm?

Pulled up the blinds in the living room for the view with the snow.

JoC — Wonderful to see you back here, and know what you went through, and how well you did, staying busy, and getting things done!!! 😅😂 I’m glad the ice there wasn’t as bad as I’d feared 😅 I had to laugh a little in relief at your mention that the water in your rain “gauge” [can] froze, and that the can froze to the deck 🚮 not a bad outcome for such a huge and scary storm 🌨️ I’m really grateful your power stayed on 😅❤️‍🩹😍

Robin — So glad you’re okay as well 😅😂 Not only did you survive the storm, but you sketched a fun and vivacious scene for us as well 😁 I’m no cook, so I wouldn’t know a garlic press from a lawn mower, but your contraption looks useful and strong and lovely 👍

Ned — like Joan, I was surprised your daughter was able to fly with all the cancelled flights, and even several major airports closed 😳 But wonderful to hear she made the journey safely, and has a hotel 😅😂

Joan — Your broken eggshells are luminous and beautiful (a sentence I never imagined writing lolol) ☀️ I’m so glad you’re still using your Neocolors, and oh my, you create such beauty with them 😃😅😍
Your view from your home window is so very lovely 😌 and what a sketch. As in the past, your textural touch (which I’m guessing may be the Neocolors again) is just right and contributes to the wild beauty of this whole sketch 🎨
I’m sorry you had some freezing rain, but trust that all is well, and cleanup will be in time for your appointment 🙏

Everyone - Stay warm and safe wherever you are 🙏❤️🙏
