Scavenger Hunt from Life #174: Oct 29 - Nov 10

Jo, thanks. It was fun to be near animals to sketch, although they are even less cooperative than people. lol

Robin, thanks for your comments on so many of my sketches. Great thinking for quarters of the apple. Love your electric kettle in electric blue and all the numbers along the side. Nice to see the hand holding the garlic! You have such interesting sketches.

Nothing new yet today. I am sketching with one of my groups tonight, so maybe I will have something to post later.

Robin, thanks. Ah, fun quarters, looks yummy. Thumb holding garlic, smells good! I like the blue kettle with numbers. Always fun to see your hatching and colored ink and different items.

Joan, hi and thanks. Animals aren't still models. Often find animals relaxing and not moving and the minute you get started, they move. You did well.

Hi all the rest. Hope to sketch tomorrow ... pastels??

Sorry I disappeared again but life seems to be sucking up the time. And today Sharon asked when I would have the Christmas card ready.LOL. I am going to try harder to at least come in and peek as just looking at you shared art is a big lift and an inspiration. So thank you all.
Fletch

Jo, hope you had time for some pastel sketching.

Fletch, LOL I'm not even thinking about my Christmas card yet. Although...I may have a sketch I saved from last year. Definitely pop in and don't disappear.

10 - dried corn and veggies on the jug (substitute for zucchini) - watercolors and ink

Fletch, boy, I feel for you. Take care of yourself and Sharon. Christmas cards are welcome anytime after Christmas, too. Hope to see you here soon.

Joan, wow, amazing jug. I love it. You know how I am about pottery. You drew it beautifully, too.

I visited the bread studio again this morning.... No time to put in colors...customers were showing up to grab those breads away so fast...

Jo, thanks. I don't do pottery too often as you know. Hope you and Gene are doing well.

Ai, I don't know if I could be in that shop and sketch or buy bread first. lol I do love good bread! I had to smile that the bread was disappearing so fast that there was no time to sketch it.

I didn't have a chance to sketch anything yesterday. This weekend is my plein air group's annual show and sale. I was busy getting things together before it started, and yesterday was really busy at the show. I sold some artwork yesterday, so I was a happy camper. This morning I placed an order for some framing materials since I had used up all my 11 x 14 and 8 x 10 mats for the show. Here is a photo of me with one of my best customers. Her family owns a farm where we go to paint every year, and every year Denise comes to the show and buys whatever I painted at the farm that year. She bought this framed piece as well as two matted pieces.

Joan: Thanks. Congratulations. Denise got such a fantastic artwork. Congratulations.

Jade & Grapes:
Thanks so much.

Joan - Love the autumn leaves. Congratulations on the sales!

Ai - Great job on the bucket and basket. Fresh baked bread is hard to pass up.

#1 thumb - 5 min sketch using fountain pen. Wanted to do something. Back to Christmas card. 😎

AI, thanks so much. It is nice to have people appreciate my art.

Fletch, thanks. Glad you snuck in a thumb while working on your card.

Ai, mmmm, yummy bread. You did a great job with no color. I can still smell it.

Hi Jade.

Joan, congratulations on your sales. I love the way you framed the sunflowers and umbrellas. Thanks for the photo! The garlic and thumb is fun in the multi colors. The jam is super and looks and sounds delicious.

Fletch, thumbs up on your thumb! I like your ink sketches. Happy card making.

Yesterday I found an hour or so to play in the dust. I didn't get it posted. On MiTientes paper dark gray color with assorted pastels. I lost the rusty color along the way. Ha.

Everyone — Thanks for your kind words ☀️ I’m sorry I couldn’t participate more on this event, or at least finish comments 🙏

I’d like to at least offer congrats to Joan for her successful show — well done !!! 😂

And thanks to JoC for painting a soft puppy to comfort us and ease our hearts 🎨❤️

Also thanks to JoC for all you do for this lovely group of people, hosting and sketching and encouraging us all ❤️‍🩹🫂

Joan, love the soft shading on the garlic. Great continuous line sketch. Color really brins it to life.

Jo, simple adorable. You captured the softness and the texture beautifully.

Few minutes this morning sketched the zucchini I set out for supper. Mechanical pencil no clue the grade.
