Hi Joan and the rest.

Robin, love the metal turtle and the stove. Fun coffee maker especially with the wild colors.
Ai, Clever finds for boxie and overhead. Beautiful flower pot.

Out on the porch this morning with the handy iPad for a color digi sketch with app Brushes and fingers.
Number 1 (yikes) moves fast - clouds, didn't look as purple on my iPad. Hmm.

I like the purple and blue sky, Jo... Nicely done.

Robin, super sketches! Love the French press. Looks more colorful than mine. lol Looks like a toasty fireplace. Thanks for your comment.

Ai, thank you.

Yesterday was my first outing with the NYC Urban Sketchers in the city for quite a while. We went to a building that is part of Columbia University and is a public gathering spot. It has great views of the trestle underneath the elevated #1 train at 125th Street.

Everyone — I’ve been a bit under the weather, but I’ve been lurking and enjoying your wonderful sketches. Today, a friend encouraged me to get exercise, and do a bit of walking despite the cold and rain, and threat of snow. I’m so grateful for that encouragement, and feel a bit better.

And so I wanted to share a gift that the Universe gave me on this walk.

So here it was, cold and raining, and yet, here was this little dandelion flower, the only one probably within hundreds of miles right now. All the other autumn dandelions are long gone, as far as I’ve been able to see. Yet, the Universe put this sweet dandelion right against the sidewalk where I was beginning my walk ❤️‍🩹😂🙏😍

I picked up several lovely fallen homeless leaves to keep the dandelion flower company 🍂🍂🍂🍂

I wanted to share this brave and lovely and cheerful little flower with you all in case you’re down, or having a difficult time right now. I hope that’s okay, even though I don’t have a sketch to go with it 🙏❤️

Joan, great finds out with your group. Applause. Over your head is so interesting and complicated. Inside outside is a warm story. Connected is clever and well done.

Pine Cone, hope you feel better now. What a great positive find with the flower and leaves, beautiful together.

Hi to all the rest....

Somehow I missed a few sketches yesterday. I don't know how. lol

Ai, good sketches. That cooking hood came out really nice. Looks like he's ready to cook a lot. I like your direct watercolor of the flowers in the vase. Nice!!

Jo, I like how you did the clouds and the sky with the brushes and your finger. Nice digital sketch and I can just picture the clouds moving along and changing shape in the sky. Glad you liked my city sketches.

Hi, Jade!

Pine Cone, thanks for that little gift of the dandelion and the leaves. They look perfect together! The Universe made a nice combination to make all of us feel a bit better and smile. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I hope the walking helped, but I'm not sure the wet weather is too helpful.🚶‍♀️🌂

Hi all 👋 lovely seeing your wonderful sketches. I enjoyed your urban Sketchers ones, Joan. 👌 PineCone - I hope you feel better soon and thanks for the (as always) uplifting story about the dandelion and picture 🌼

Ai -nice idea for boxie...how important is the box to the speaker, yeah -it's the whole deal mostly. it kinda looks likit is vibrating and fuzzy like some speakers are. Adore the chef's scene...the diagonal background is dynamic in holding it all together, nice. Like the raw feeling to the porcelain vase and flowers..perkie color scheme too. The flower works are lovely. I especially like the red ones...because the whole piece looks tight and cohesive and great contrast with the loose spacious , relaxing reach of the watercolor branches. Oh, learning gouache now eh.....I know you will do well. I like gouache too. Liked to use the eggyolk with few drops clove oil for thinner. Roll the yolk around on papertowel first to get white off and then gently pierce the "skin" and drip yolk into tiny jar. It was a fun, quiet moment I liked.

JoC - aaaah...lovely feeling those clouds have, Looks like the group of clouds showed up just for you. I wouldn't be surprised. I love clouds. I had a friend who had a bumpersticker that read "I brake for clouds"

Jade - Hi, nice to hear from you. I couldn't view any of your sketches for some reason when I clicked on link got photo of JoC's clouds??

Joan - wonderful work!! Great atmosphere in all of them Your people rendering is very pleasant to view all the little idosyncrecies and relationships are delicious. The Fall trees are fabulous.

Pinecone- Hi, thanks for the perkie peek.

Hi Fletch , and lurkers

Robin: Thanks. exp. for the egg yolk gouache tip. Cool ball-point pen sketches. My favorite is the wind chime, and the cat condo.
