I sketched in the placement of the leaves as soon as I set these up because they wilted so quickly. Mixing the reds I needed was kind of a fun challenge. I used a photo to do the leaves when everything else was done but I tried not to get too detailed with them. oil on paper, 7x9in.

It's just stunning, Donna. I admire the softness of this, so delicate. I have no issues with your leaves: your touches of paint were the right way to go.

The thing that keeps drawing my eye the most is the long white root in the foreground. It is rooty perfection!
