Dark background sounds like a good idea. I have never done digital work. I could probably add a darker layer to the background with my oil pastels or just start over and do another version with different background.

I think you should give it a try Debs ... on a different one if you think you might spoil this!
The contrast would bring more impact to the subject.

I think it's delicate and lovely, just the way you did it.

If you wanted to punch it up just a little, you could take a darker green and just take it to the corners. Call it the "vignetting" technique - I do it frequently, sometimes more obvious than others, but it gives a darker border which would direct the eye towards your pretty pink rose. Just a mid-way suggestion.
