This is a watercolour landscape that I painted four years ago. It is on 270 gsm A4 size Chitrapat watercolour paper (rough) and is based on a b/w photograph of a tree on Pallavaram Road, which was posted on Facebook. I do not recall who posted it but I'm grateful to that person for sharing such a beautiful vintage photo online.

Incidentally Pallavaram was well outside the municipal limits of Chennai (or Madras as it was known at that time). Today it is an integral and heavily built up part of the city.

Thank you Joy.
I am quite pleased with how this painting turned out. But I cannot take any credit for the composition. I used a vintage b/w photograph for reference and stayed faithful to it.
