Hello Fellow Artists, I just completed my website and while there are still a few issues to work out, it is far enough along for me to present to all of you. It also contains a lot more of my work than I have shown here.

Just to reiterate, I am not posting it to try and sell anything here, just wanted peoples' opinions.

PS: The company that built and is hosting (for one year) my website for (only) $299, I am not affiliated with them, I actually found them on my local Craig's List, if you are interested in using them, hit me up with a Private Message. I am VERY happy with them!

Hi Steven…it all looks pretty good to me. That landing page is an intense bolt of color…like wow.

But I’m curious about your technique and unless I missed it, I don’t see it described on your site. Maybe it’s not necessary to include. But *I* would like to know about your technique. It’s light and photography and objects they are manipulated in some way, correct? But the “objects” you mention…are they all little bits of shaped glass that you arrange in a kind of design and then you photograph to look as some new thing? Like with the images above…do you actually have that particularly shaped rounded glass object on hand? Or is it created from bits of glass to only appear like this?

Sorry. I’m probably being unclear. And probably dense.
I’m tired and shouldn’t be posting, but was just wondering…

FWIW, seems straightforward enough.
Not sure why you chose your Gallery page configuration, but it's your artistic choice, not anyone else's.
It may be computer/device/monitor idiosyncrasy, but on the home page for example there is material "beneath the fold", at least on my desktop screen.
Good on you for a website of your own, not the common FASO or other storefront formats.

On the About page the first sentence is:

ABOUT stevenD

I am Artist who is a long-time resident of Orange County, California.

I think it will read better like this:

ABOUT stevenD

I am an Artist who is a long-time resident of Orange County, California.

To quote Homer Simpson... "DOH"...!

How did I miss that? LOL, big thanks and I already asked them to fix it...

Well, I had an idea for a simple Gallery and they came up with what is shown, at this time I liked it fine, as it does what I wanted it to. yeah the text on the front page is not readable unless it is scrolled down to, but the picture would have been smaller otherwise, everything is a trade-off... A BIG THANKS for your words...!

Oh, you are clear!
Thanks for looking and the comments. I explain things somewhat on my website on the about page. I have developed, refined and expanded my own proprietary process of collecting, arranging, lighting and capturing from special angles, glass and opaque objects in an abstract manner. If this is hard to see, understand, grasp what you are seeing, then I have achieved my goal!
