These are some kind of wild plums that look a little like cherries on steroids. They were good models for learning to mix reds and practice shadows. I have a long way to go but I enjoy setting up objects and observing what the light does to them. I made a little "abscrap" from the leftovers. Paint is so outrageously expensive and I feel like I should try to use it up instead of scraping it into the trash. Plums are 6x6 oil on paper and abstract is 4x4 oil and cold wax on paper.
They're nice side by side too with the complimentary colours. Good idea on recycling paints!

And when I paint I lie .. I don't care what the shadows hold as I force them to hold what I give them and I make them subordinate to the scene.
