Hopefully, I chose the correct forum for this, as it is art related. The French TV series L'art du crime really took me by surprise as a fictional crime series involving artwork, theft, and murder. It has been on my "watch" list for quite a while. The amount of art history and the paintings shown was really interesting, although the crimes were often rather complex. There is quite an educational emphasis on the art and it compels me to read more about the works. Apparently it is very popular in Europe, but they have a different attitude to the arts than Americans. I really enjoy foreign language series.
The website about it on IMDb is here. My cursory research indicated it was available on MHz, Apple TV, and some other platforms. I am using a free library app, kanopy, to get this and other series gratis. I also use hoopla, another library app for other foreign series.
