Lake Malaren reeds

Hi folks, this is one of my dailys, trying out gouache. So far I am liking the media, I can get close to what I get with my pastels but easier colour definition ... It's quick so I think it will be great for Plein air when I finally get out again.
On NOT watercolour 300gm paper, 10x15cm a 6 colour Daler student set but I don't use the black. I do find the out of tube stuff works better, it does reconstitute, but looks like I need to get a couple of bigger tubes of certain colour. The photo picks a little more yellow that reality.

Wonderful. Great depth and the sky really looks alive. And I do love Mälaren. My father in law has a boat and we go there on fishing trips every summer

It shows I was there around Christmas time. Unfortunately it was not cold enough for ice skating, which can be magical on Mälaren.

You have beautifully captured a cold-looking day - wonderful chilly sky and reflection on the lake. The snow on the shore makes me chilly, even with your warm colored reeds poking through.

Thanks triduana, Jo, Terri, Arty. Much appreciated. A small backstory. This one #28 now has a new home. We had folks around for dinner and they helped get our sound system working, so I gifted it in thanks. I've now done a replacement, not as nice ( to me) as the original.
