I did this one some years ago. I tried to search for what I've posted here and didn't see it yet. I've probably posted a lot of these on WC over the years. This one is called In Training, 24 x 24 inches, oil on birch panel.

I don't recall seeing it. I see the training wheels but why the mummy bandages? Story? I like it in any case. ❤️

I am a trainer, my day job.
If I look into this image of a delegate for meaning, as a trainer, I find some.

Without going into describing this one, I am inspired by this to imagine an
image of a dozen different individuals in training.

It was shortly after I did this one when it hit me like a ton of pianos that Klee was a huge presence in my (art-making) life. I always knew it in the back of my head, but it wasn't in the forefront for over 30 years. Seriously. I had such a profound experience at sixteen at the Norton Simon Museum when I went to see his exhibit and he must have stuck with me ever since--giving me all kinds of permissions to do whatever I wanted and be as playful/expressive as I needed to be. He's obviously a strong influence, especially in this painting.

I know this is a delayed reaction/post, but I saw that SLG liked this post today and so I came to say these words.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled program. ;)
