This was done six years ago during the first lockdown following the outbreak of the covid pandemic. At that time people were still very unused to being confined to their homes. And, to help people cope with feelings of loneliness and depression, an art community that I was a member of, came up with an Isolation Art Challenge, with a theme for each day of the month.
It’s human to challenge oneself, and to attempt what has not been done before and I therefore thought that this qualified for the day 11 theme: “human”. And being human
, for me the challenge was to paint this directly with brush and watercolour, and no preliminary pencil sketch.
Watercolour on A4 size 300 gsm cold pressed watercolour paper.
