Artyczar, with the current setup, a non-functional weaving still gets shoved into a “crafts” category, rather than a “fine arts” category, simply because it’s not done in acrylics, oils, watercolor, etc.

That is true most of the time, yes. It can depend a lot on where and who is the jury/curator of the exhibition too. Maybe it is or will change over time. Hopefully. I know it has for some fiber artists.
