Hello Kitty.jpg

5.5x8.5 watercolor over pencil sketch in Masters sketchbook, 80 lb. paper done a few days ago, no one's cat in particular, just a regular orange ginger tabby fellow saying hello. Daniel Smith paints.
C&C welcome

He’s a cutie, Kay. I just noticed that you used negative painting to do the whiskers and chin hairs - wow!

This is lovely Kay! I love the paw. I agree about masking fluid - I always get it too thick so I threw mine away and go for negative painting too.

I saw this, and literally said, "Aww!" out loud. So adorable, with his little paw up. I love this, Kay!

Kay, this is wonderful! So fresh, not a wasted brushstroke. The negative painting for the hairs must be very tedious. The style reminds me a bit of Shibasaki , when he painted his cat Marron, here.

Such fine, well placed brushwork and color. Looks like kitty has a paw on a window and looking out at me.
