I started my oil painting journey about a month ago, teaching myself through practice and watching a lot of YouTube videos. This is my latest piece! I'd love to hear your feedback—what do you think, and how can I improve? 🙏

Nicely done! I’m new to oils too so I appreciate all the learning and practice that is needed. There sure were a lot of buildings in this one and I like how the misty cloud hovers above them.

Thank you, and now I realize my colors are not what I wanted them to be, and I'm still learning to mix colors to get the one I desire. Roofs are a bit too loud compared to the original picture.

This is an impressive start, especially for a beginner! I don't work in oils so I can't comment on approach or technique. I can only say that this is an ambitious attempt - a very busy, intricate scene with all these rooftops, and you are doing very well. I love this composition!

I appreciate you showing your underpainting - good job. For someone who has only been at this a month, an impressive effort.

Now let's let some actual oil painters weigh in here!
