   I've read this can happen with soft pastels and to be wary of it - but I can't imagine trying to transport or do anything with a soft pastel without using some kind of fix, so what could be a work around?   Yeah, when coupled with the effect of moving it indoors, the change in lighting is rather strong and disappointing. When I take it outside into direct light it improves markedly, yet I can still see the impact of my imperfect fixing. I have been having better luck of late with one fixative, but doing it hurriedly outdoors never seems to work out well for me, which is what I did. Just have to remember the lesson....... unfortunately when you lose brightness you lose mood. I like the 2/1 ratio in the support size as it makes an interesting comp.
