11 x 14 inches .. acrylic on paper .. painted Nov 16/17 2025
Experimented with Hooker Green, Ultra Marine Blue, Crimson, Lemon Yellow .. no white not black .. trying glazing .. works but I'm too lazy and I need to just get it done Alla Prima Won't use that palette again as it is too restrictive in values. Got it a little smokey.

But it is still lovely and the colors have a completely different effect. ❤️ I love glazing in oils (except that it takes forever) because you achieve colors that cannot be mixed on the palette.

Thanks Jade and Sno. This is acrylic but the method remains the same except for drying times. I may do as Sargent and just glaze certain passages.

This turned out so well, Wayne, and I like the colors. I can’t believe there’s no white but you lightened the areas that needed it just fine without it. What color did you glaze with a did you use glazing fluid or something else?

Thank you Donna. I used a satin medium. I used the four colors from the palette. To lighten it’s hard to change the value but lots of medium and sparse paint will light slightly. Mostly I darkened atond my lights which were sparse to begin with. Said I was done with glazing but I’m at it again with today’s piece. It changes the whole completion of the painting.
