Good day. My username is lemonsoneperson, but you can call me Oper for short. I do traditional art with pencil & paper and despite me not owning a graphics tablet as yet, I've dabbled a lot in the digital art—mainly for graphic design & logos. I have an interest in UI design (one of my favourites being the Metro Design Language from the Windows Phone series, Zune and the infamous Windows 8.x series). I also like looking at logos, my main inspirations being legends like Saul Bass, Paul Rand, and Lance Wyman and poster designs from the Swiss style such as Josef Müller-Brockmann. Traditional artists as my inspiration include a little bit of Richard Elson and others.

I've been very infrequently lurking on the website for a little bit and I've decided to commit into interacting in this forum. This is actually the first time I'm joining a forum so I'm a novice in forum etiquette. Hopefully in time I will learn about the ins–and–outs of the forum style, become more acquainted with the community and learn new techniques & skills to improve my art further. I promise to be deferent to the community. Danke!

Hello and welcome! Glad you decided to join us. We have a lot of lurkers. We love when they come forward and participate. You’ll be made to feel welcome here. We love to see people‘s work and hear what they like about art and artists. I will have to check out some of those names and programs. Always cool seeing what people are into and their influences.
You can check out the forum rules at the top of the Welcome Centre board.
What is nice about this community is it’s friendly and we like getting into discussions here. It’s not just a quick like and gone. People get to know each other over time. I hope you will enjoy it.🙂

Willkommen, Oper! I am also an admirer of Saul Bass and Paul Rand. The Sun Microsystems logo, which I believe was designed by Vaughan Pratt, is one of my all-time favourites.

Oh yeah, that’s cool. I’m thinking of all the different logos over the years. 70s and 80s were really cool graphically. I have to see if I can find some. I don’t know if a lot of those companies exist anymore.
