Thank you kindly Terri.
As for Chagall (Mordechai Segal….😂😂), his early paintings are not bad. After he became famous (and rich) he painted badly over and over childishly drawn figures floating around, badly composed etc. The Jewish meaning behind his crap could be written as opposed to painted. My late father met him a couple times during his visits of Israel. He was arrogant, insulting and basically full of s..t.
If you like real blue, go with Yves Klein!….

I don't like hearing that about Chagall! Maybe your father came to meet him on a foul day for him, or something had been on his mind. Or maybe there were Israeli/Russian cultural differences. In any case, that doesn't change how lovely his art is. Picasso was a dick and his art is still amazing. Sting, as a person, is pompous but he's a good musician. Rothko was very depressed, and a tad narcissistic, but many people loved his work. People are people. We are all flawed.

And btw, I owned an apartment in the village of St. Paul de Vence where Moishe lived for a while and is buried in the village cemetery. Among all the graves there with crosses etc. there’s one double grave with nothing on top: Moishe’s and his wife Bella’s. As you probably know, Jews place stones on graves so as to create a connection with the souls of the deceased. When I first arrived at the cemetery with my ex wife that double grave had nothing on it. We placed the first two stones on it. If you ever arrive at St. Paul (one of the nicest villages in the world) and visit the cemetery, you’ll see a pile of stones on that double grave now…..

When Moishe visited Israel he was shown a selection of works by leading Israeli artists. My dad happened to be there. When Moishe wanted to know something about one of the pieces he was shown he pointed to it with his foot!! The works were arranged for him on the floor.

It has the sense of surrealism as Arty says, and the colors are very warm and enjoyable. I see the figure as a child in an explosion of joy, but overall, I am still undecided.
Hey Nufocus - just wanted you to know that I had checked in earlier.
