Dragon Eye (& brief Mungyo review)

Gallery oil pastels by Mungyo on black Canson drawing paper, with a little Polychromos colored pencil for the small eye details.

I did this piece as a demo for an upcoming review of the pastels for my YouTube channel (Jessie Nebulous Art) and my review is that they're great! Creamy and opaque, great blendability, with hardly any of those little bits and crumbs you get with cheaper pastels. For about $20 on Amazon, I fully recommend them!

Beautiful greens, Jessie! Love this!

I agree with you on the Mungyo Gallery OPs. I always recommend them to beginners since they actually perform well, which is so important to beginners in this tricky medium. (Usually, inexpensive or student grade OP's will drive away all but the most dedicated learner.) I love their grays in particular, and blues and greens, too.

My only real complaint(s) with them is that they are low on the light-fastness scale, and they don't sell open stock.
