Dakshina Chitra Entrance

I visited Dakshina Chitraa (a living, cultural, and heritage museum in Chennai) a couple of days ago along with over 140 fresh students and about a dozen of our faculty. For many of the students this was their first visit to the heritage and cultural museum. Over a couple of hours the students spent their time exploring the place, making friends with their class/batch mates, since this was just their second day in college, and a few of them also made a sketch or two. Meanwhile I managed to do several sketches.

I did the pen and ink part of this approximately 7.5″ x 6″ sketch in around ten to fifteen minutes, while waiting for the students to arrive, and added the watercolour washes later at home.

Another lovely work of art!I have been away for several weeks on holiday and am way behind on forums, painting and commenting. (Plus I am rather overwhelmed and exhausted. Perhaps another holiday to “recuperate” ?) There are many things that need my attention at home, and I hope to participate more in September.
