I already posted this under Music we’re listening to, but I’m afraid it’s going to get lost among all the other music
So here’s a thread to post any beautiful Christmas music anyone would like to share.
This is a wonderful choir from Toronto called “That Choir”. And this rendition of The Holly and the Ivy is glorious!

I have two huge playlists of Christmas music on Spotify. One covers the whole gamut of Seasonal music from medieval choral works through contemporary pop, jazz, country Christmas music. The other is a playlist of instrumental Christmas music in a rather mellow vein… perfect for listening in the evening when talking with friends.

The Vince Guaraldi Christmas works known from the Charlie Brown Christmas movie remains a favorite.

I love the fusion of folk/classical/country with Alison Krauss and Yo Yo Ma.

The whole of Yo Yo Ma’s Christmas album is marvelous.

One last favorite… for now… is the Evening Prayer from Engelbert Humperdinck’s opera, Hansel und Gretel. This was not composed specifically for Christmas, but like Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker it has become a seasonal favorite.

There’s another lovely holiday song with Alison Krauss & Robert Plant that I love: “The Light of Christmas Day”. I tried to post the video… but every version I found on YouTube was marred by Diane Keaton’s irritating voice from outtakes from the film, “Love the Coopers” whining over it . You can find the unsullied version on Spotify.

It works! All the radio channels. I think it’s lovely how they broke down the channels into different themes for Christmas. I was just listening to Tony Bennett..
