My brother used to work on old MGs. Had them all over the yard! Drove us crazy. But that was how I originally got into British cars. The Triumphs.

It's pronounced Speed-air, not like spider, and means a convertible. Same with the Alfa Spider.

Almost all contemporary cars are hideous, the wages of wind tunnel design.

All the "super cars" of today that I've seen are also hideous. Beyond hideous, most of them.

Yep, but they were singin' about the 427. Both great looking cars. A friend of a friend had a 427 and I got a ride in it. Jesus, that thing would slam you back in your seat. Zero to sixty in four seconds.

Never would have remembered. Very cute name.

There was a band in my high school called the Chordovans. Collegiates, as we called those kids, with their cordovan Bass Weejun penny loafers, white Levis, madras shirts with a froot loop on the back and gold-filled Speidel Twist-o-Flex ID bracelets.
