A cityscape that started long time ago as a pleinair in Cádiz, Spain but finished in the last couple of days in the studio. It was bothering me that I wasn't able to finish it on location, maybe I was tired after all it was the second pleinair of that day. I'm glad I found strength to work more on it now.
"Cádiz", oil on oil paper, 20x30 cm.

This is really beautiful Grapes. A different style than I've seen from you, i like both but this style really works here. I keep meaning to ask, do you see your paintings? You seem so prolific.

Nice piece Grapes! You did a good job resolving that. And it is nice feeling to finally finish something even if it took years. I still have some waiting for me…..

If you mean "sell" then answer is yes, the last two ones I sold in August, a still life and a local landscape. Thanks for your comment, Jade!

PB, thank you so much! It's sometimes so hard to figure out how to finish certain paintings! Hope you get to finish some too. It can be rewarding.

Wayne, thanks so much!
I have had trouble with cityscapes but lately I go to places that mostly have only city (not much nature) and I feel like I want to paint those views too. To have a memory of the place. So this is good practice to get better.

You must be happy to have finished this, Grapes, and it’s really beautiful! I’m sure your plein air start helped you preserve the feeling of being there.

Thanks, Donna! I am. 👍 It feels good to finally finish something and to have a memory of the place.

Here's the comparation: below the pleinair (given up ) and above finished studio piece, painted over the pleinair.

I can see the good plein air bones in the finished piece, so much better than a photo alone. Thanks for sharing that, Grapes!

Donna, I actually did surprisingly lot of drawing on that pleinair despite the short time I was there.

I almost threw this pleinair to bin by the big wall but am now glad l didn't.

Joy, thank you! 😊
I fixed the composition a little bit from the pleinair.
Jo, thank you!😀
The fact that I did quite a lot of drawing in the original pleinair helped tremendously finishing it!
