Joe I just use my i pencil straight onto the screen of my I pad pro.

I have one of the harder covers (not the thin film that I could have fitted myself) on my iPad and my ipencil seems ok in it. I had the screen fitted at a phone repair shop. i hooe you get yourself sorted.
