Art's value as investment

Just like the stock market, there has never been any guarantee for a return on your investment in art. Never. Art does not automatically appreciate in value. If investors think this, they are not smart and don't know what they are doing, and are not keeping up. "Trends develop unpredictably" is right. It doesn't matter what the art is. It's all about desirability.
