Watercolor and Gouache on Arches cold press. From pic I took of my neighbors driveway. Maybe a couple more tweaks.

I really like this. The colours of the snow and ice are lovely. Well done.

I agree - very nice work on coloring the snow shadows. I like the way the trees and the drive lead out into the distance with the gentle curve.

Lamar, thanks, I’m always drawn to scenes with pathways.
Sno, thanks. Ahh, the colors of light and shadow in winter. 🙂

Kay, Donna, thank you 🙂
I’ve been going for walks lately. Always keep my eye open for interesting comps and light patterns. They’re everywhere, even in my backyard.

A couple of tweaks. The foreground shadow wasn’t reading quite right to me so I darkened the value slightly.
Also, this pic was shot in morning light from my studio window, slightly cooler in places.

Looks good, Patrick. The darker shadow makes it seem like we're squinting because of the bright light on the snow.

Excellent work Patric. You are great with gouache! You even get a watercolor type feel with some of it. Did you use some watercolor too?

Thanks Ayin, it’s mostly watercolor. I am usually not real good at leaving the white of the paper and early washes for the highlights, so I need to go back in with some white opaque gouache mixed with some WC pigment to touch up some highlights. However, I actually did less of that with this one, so I’m getting more proficient with WC. I used some Daniel Smith, WN, and Rembrandt WCs.
DS-Cobalt blue
DS- neutral tint ( chromatic black)
DS- Cad yellow
WN-Auroelin yellow
WN-Cerulean blue
WN-magenta
Rembrandt- transparent white
Dayler Rowney-white gouache

Thanks Esther. I am happy with the glowing highlights derived from the early stage washes over the white paper.
