A couple of Still lifes in window light

These are both gorgeous. Yes, working from life is a great teacher for shadows and textures you don't see in photos. Lovely work.
 
Beautiful paintings. I especially like the reflections of the oranges in the table and the way you handled to the pattern on the towel.

These are so good! I love how shiny the apples look, and the reflected orange of the clementines. 🙂

The red Gouache was a WN primary red/magenta probably Quinacridone, somewhat transparent pigment. For the most part, Gouache is more opaque than WC, but becomes more transparent as more water is added. Also can be tricky due to the light values dry lighter and darks dry darker than when first mixed. Sometimes pleasant surprises, sometimes a struggle with values.
